Tetrafab Corporation, a global leader in the design and manufacture of custom soft cases and sewn goods, is seeking to hire a Junior Designer for our corporate office in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. As a Junior Designer at Tetrafab, you will work with the Design Director to design soft-sewn goods, formed EVA cases, and other soft-good product solutions that delight our customers with your expert handling of their aesthetic, functional, and financial requirements. In this creative design role, you will work closely with members of Tetrafab’s internal Sales, Product Development, and Product Fulfillment teams to ensure exceptional customer service. Our process will allow you to work directly with our customers’ global Industrial Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, and Buyers to develop sewn solutions that are designed to enhance the customer’s product by adding style, functionality, protection, and brand recognition. This is an in-person role.

Key responsibilities this role will own or assist:
• Define product requirements by interpreting verbal, written, and drawn information to help define technical, aesthetic, and other requirements.
• Generate concepts in sketch, 3D-CAD, or other format that delight customers by addressing their needs in unique and efficient ways.
• Refine designs through 2D or 3D means to provide definition to construction, materials, hardware, and other design elements.
• Create 3D-CAD models of molded parts and other molded constructions.
• Document designs with proposals and tech packs for development and costing through our international manufacturing network.
• Gather feedback from clients’ design, engineering, and sales teams and create change orders clearly communicating needed adjustments.
• Create technical drawings in CAD for clients with engineering documentation requirements.
• Reflect Tetrafab’s values and mission.

Who you are:
• You have a passion for designing products that are useful, usable, and desirable while balancing various competing customer and user needs.
• You are in growth mode, wanting to learn and grow in this role.
• You have a design portfolio demonstrating strong design skills.
• You are a strong listener and verbal/written communicator, without AI.
• You have 0-2+ years of professional experience in a design-related role.
• You have a 4-year degree in Design – Industrial design, Fashion design, Apparel, or any related field – or equivalent experience.
• Experience in sewn products, textiles, etc. is ideal but not required.
• You understand the practices, principles, and techniques used in the design and development process – we can train on specifics of sewn-goods.
• You have a digital-first design workflow for speed and efficiency.
• You have strong, efficient sketching and rendering skills for concept development and communication - use of Sketchbook Pro preferred.
• You have strong 3D-CAD skills in solids/surfaces, parts, assemblies, and drawings - ideally in Solidworks. Tetrafab is a Solidworks based organization.
• You possess a mechanical aptitude that enables you to develop beautiful and unique product solutions within manufacturing limitations.
• You can balance and execute multiple design projects concurrently.
• You are comfortable taking directions and can work well independently.
• You value input, feedback, and critique from others.
• Ideally you have experience working with overseas teams.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year

Education:
